For more than fifty (50) years, Metrocare has provided an array of services available to people with mental and developmental disabilities. In addition to behavioral health services, Metrocare provides primary care centers for adults and children, accessible pharmacies, housing and supportive social services. Through the Altshuler Center for Education & Research we are advancing mental health beyond Dallas County.


    The Team Leader is responsible for the clinical supervision and administrative oversight for up to seven Individual Service Coordinators (ISC), as well as monitoring and managing the Local Authority functions according to established policies and procedures. The Team Leader is responsible for understanding and assuring that the ISCs on their team fulfill and perform their responsibilities according to established policies and procedures.


    Essential Functions: The Team Leader must be able to effectively and clearly communicate with service seekers and the general public, as well as with staff both internal and external to the program. The Team Leader must have a working knowledge of the contents of the ISC Manual developed by the Unit. The Team Leader must have personal transportation, be basic computer literate, and open to working flexible hours if needed. The Team Leader must be able to provide administrative oversight, including hiring and termination, in monitoring staff output and benchmarks and appropriateness with assigned caseloads. 

    1. Assures the completion and submission of documentation by Team members, including but not limited to, Service Intervention Notes, Service Plans, and other related documentation following established guidelines in order to meet funding source requirements.
    2. Communicates with customers via phone, in person, etc. and following program guidelines in order to assist the customer/family/legal guardian to make an informed provider choice.
    3. Assure the coordination and communication of nursing facility customer transfers or permanent discharges following program guidelines to support customer’s choice, and allow accurate budgetary reporting.
    4. Assure the completion, and review of the Inventory for Client & Agency Planning (ICAP) Assessment, as appropriate, following program guidelines to assure level of need and provider reimbursement rate.
    5. Assure the completion and timely submission of the ID/RC Assessment following ICAP Assessment results to determine level of care/level of need for all Medicaid waiver programs.
    6. Monitor and review the Person Directed Plan for consumers on Team caseload.
    7. Monitor and review the development and request for authorization of the Individual Plan of Care following program guidelines to assure customer needs are met.
    8. Handles all hiring and termination issues for Team according to Center policies.
    9. Monitor personnel issues, such as Leave Requests, Performance Evaluations, and Training for all members of Team.
    10. Assists the Director or other Center staff with special projects or assignments following appropriate guidelines in order to insure the efficient operation of the Center.
    11. Maintain required training for Center employees, as well as Unit specific training.
    12. Interacts with customers both internal and external in a courteous and respectful manner.
    13. Demonstrates responsible usage of Center resources in order to assure appropriate care, cleanliness, safety and operations.
    14. Complies with Center time and attendance requirements to assure work is performed and consistent services provided.


    Minimum Qualifications: Experience in caseload management and four years experience in the field of developmental disabilities is required. At least two years in a supervisory position preferred. Spanish bilingual preferred.


    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services field required. Master’s Degree in Human Services field preferred.


    License/Credentials: Must have current Texas driver’s license and be insurable under Center insurance. Additional licensure as appropriate to Degree.

    6. Maintains a valid driver’s license, meets the Center’s insurance criteria, and passes all Center required training.
