In addition to behavioral health services, Metrocare provides primary care centers for adults and children, accessible pharmacies, housing and supportive social services. Through the Altshuler Center for Education & Research  we are advancing mental health beyond Dallas County

     

    The BCBA will use applied behavior analysis techniques based on scientific literature; primarily to conduct behavior assessments, skills assessments, and behavioral intervention and training. The BCBA will be responsible for coordinating the day to day functions, creating structures to better facilitate assigned services of the assigned Behavioral Treatment Services team. The BCBA will  provide consumers with behavioral services so that their learning experiences are optimized, perform professional work in assessment and ABA services.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  (Other duties may be assigned.)

    • Facilitate the completion of in-depth functional assessment of maladaptive behaviors and the development of behavior programs.
    • Develop and coordinate behavioral services needed by consumers in a variety of settings
    • Utilize various assessment instruments and techniques to assist in the identification and interpretation of psychological issues
    • Provide supervision to assigned Behavior Intervention Specialists.
    • Provide consultation services in school and vocational workshops as indicated.
    • Participate in treatment plan meetings, ARD meetings, and other planning meetings on a regular basis
    • Document interactions and progress of consumers
    • Data analysis
    • Hands-on implementation, monitoring and adjustment of intervention plans

     

    COMPETENCIES:

    • Ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of individuals, teams and systems.
    • Able to apply working knowledge of MS Office 95/97
    • Knowledge of issues and challenges relating to autism spectrum disorders
    • Knowledge of administration and interpretation of assessment instruments
    • Demonstrated training and experience in individual and group counseling techniques
    • Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area
    • Knowledge of the ARD process and IEP goal setting process and implementation

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Masters or PhD in Applied Behavioral Analysis.
    • Minimum of three years experience in delivery of ABA to the autism population
    • Experience working with children ages 3 to 8
    • Experience with Autism specific ABA/PBS program development and training. 

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    • Basic math skills required for this position. 

    REASONING ABILITY:

    • Ability to apply common sense understanding of Metrocare programs.

    • Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst
