    The LPHA Interventionist is primarily responsible for monitoring services and providing intervention to individuals with a positive screening for various measures, especially those centralized around DSRIP. Such interventions include, but are not limited to, tobacco cessation, alcohol, depression, and/or suicidal ideation. The LPHA Interventionist uses a basic knowledge of diagnostic characteristics, symptomology of primary mental illness and knowledge of medications, side effects and benefits to provide services in a person-centered, supportive, office-based environment. The LPHA Interventionist is monitored by periodic supervision.

     

    Metrocare is the largest provider of mental health services in Dallas County, serving more than 57,000 adults and children annually. For more than fifty (50) years, Metrocare has provided an array of services available to people with mental and developmental disabilities. In addition to behavioral health services, Metrocare provides primary care centers for adults and children, accessible pharmacies, housing and supportive social services. Through the Altshuler Center for Education & Research we are advancing mental health beyond Dallas County.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned.) 

    • Provides therapeutic counseling/intervention services in accordance with clinical screenings
    • Assists in completing intake assessments and diagnostic formulations as needed.
    • Coordinates services within the Agency and with other community providers.
    • Assists with the involvement and education of the consumer’s family at a level acceptable to the consumer.
    • Responds to crisis or potential crisis situations and ensures the appropriate level of care through the coordination of services or the provision of community support services.
    • Documents services in the automated clinical record keeping system with 24 hours after services have occurred.
    • Maintains required productivity levels as outlined in Center policies.
    • Maintains confidentiality of information concerning consumers and family members.
    • Provide overall service coordination, referral, linkage, and advocacy to consumers with varying needs. Perform duties in concert with other members of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
    • Participate in interdisciplinary team staffing. Present psychosocial assessment findings. Encourage consumer to attend staffing

    • Analytical skills, professional acumen, business ethics, thorough understanding of continuous improvement processes, problem solving, respect for confidentiality, excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Knowledge of TRR requirements
    • Clinical skill for evaluating accuracy of clinical screening and providing appropriate clinical intervention.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:        

    Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field. Independent licensure is required – LPC, LCSW. 

    REASONING ABILITY:

    • Ability to carry out oral and/or written instructions.
    • Ability to operate as a team member, yet able to make positive, individual judgments.

    • Ability to assess needs of consumers and implement a training plan

    • Ability to maintain a list of resources in the community.

    • Ability to recognize and report side effects of psychoactive medications.

    • Ability to assess a potential crisis situation and ensure the delivery of services at the proper level of care.

    • Ability to call in clinical information for authorization.

    • Ability to work collaboratively with co -workers.

    • Ability to work in a high stress environment, take initiative and be creative.

    • Ability to drive a multi-passenger vehicle.

    • Ability to successfully use an automated clinical record keeping system.

    COMPUTER SKILLS:                   

      • Intermediate level on MS Excel, Email and word processing programs
      • Ability to utilize Internet for resources.

    CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, TRAINING, REGISTRATIONS: 

      • LPC, or LCSW
      • TB Test, CPR, First Aid and SAMA to be provided within 30 days for hire
      • TAC web-based training
