For more than fifty (50) years, Metrocare has provided an array of services available to people with mental and developmental disabilities. In addition to behavioral health services, Metrocare provides primary care centers for adults and children, accessible pharmacies, housing and supportive social services. Through the Altshuler Center for Education & Research  we are advancing mental health beyond Dallas County.


    The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) will provide CCAM students with learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. This position will develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and other instructional material to student ability levels.



    • Collaborates to develop target goals with the supervising clinician.
    • Implements an instructional, therapeutic, or skill development program for assigned students.
    • Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, and materials.
    • Participates in staff and consumer meetings on a regular basis.
    • Conducts ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
    • Manages student behavior and administers discipline, including intervening during a crises.
    • Documents interactions and progress of students.
    • Implements correct ABA procedures with therapeutic interactions.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Self-motivating, able to work independently.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of individuals, teams and systems.
    • Knowledge of issues and challenges relating to autism spectrum disorders.
    • Demonstrated general knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
    • Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area.



    • High School Diploma; One year of working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities preferred.


    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, ability to compute rates and percent’s.


    • Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).


    • Ability to apply commons sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations



    • Bi- annual training in CPR and annual training in SAMA
    • Registered Behavior Technician (Expected completion within 6 months of hire date)
