Metrocare is the largest provider of mental health services in Dallas County, serving more than 57,000 adults and children annually. For more than fifty (50) years, Metrocare has provided an array of services available to people with mental and developmental disabilities. In addition to behavioral health services, Metrocare provides primary care centers for adults and children, accessible pharmacies, housing and supportive social services. Through the Altshuler Center for Education & Research we are advancing mental health beyond Dallas County
The Behavior Intervention Specialist assigned to the Center for Children with Autism is a creative and patient individual passionate to serve individuals ages 2 to 12 that are diagnosed with Autism and/or Pervasive Developmental Disorder that would not have access to Applied Behavioral Analysis services otherwise if our programs did not exist. The BIS is a valuable member of the team responsible for implementing the child’s behavior treatment plan which focuses on the behavioral, social, and language needs of the child. CCAM’s goal is to lead each child to his or her potential through evidence based therapy founded on the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) including Verbal Behavior (VB). Services are provided in the clinic Monday-Friday.
