    Metrocare is the largest provider of mental health services in Dallas County, serving more than 57,000 adults and children annually. For more than fifty (50) years, Metrocare has provided an array of services available to people with mental and developmental disabilities. In addition to behavioral health services, Metrocare provides primary care centers for adults and children, accessible pharmacies, housing and supportive social services. Through the Altshuler Center for Education & Research we are advancing mental health beyond Dallas County.


    The Clinical Manager III delivers and coordinates community based mental health services to consumers assigned to a specific team. The Clinical Manager III works collaboratively with the Business Manager to insure daily operational outcomes are met and works collaboratively with the team Doctor/APN to insure clinical outcomes are met for the team. The Clinical Manager III ensure the team is compliant with all agency performance metrics and payer or contract documentation requirements. Additionally, the Clinical Manager III operates in a treatment team model, which dictates that all consumers are assigned to a specific treatment team and team provider. The Clinical Manager III conducts treatment staffings, provides direct service interventions with consumers, monitors the uniform assessment and treatment planning process, collaborates with the business manager to assure all consumer services are authorized. Directly responsible to ensure service delivery is documented according to established policy. The Clinical Manager III may carry a caseload as directed and and provide individual, family and/or group intervention with consumers. The Clinical Manager III insures that all team members are adequately trained to provide services.



    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned.)

    • Provide supervision and consultation to clinicians and their associated caseloads:
    • Ensure quality services are provided by every clinician and that the consumer treatment plans are designed to meet the consumers needs.
    • The CMIII ensures all services are delivered consistent with the treatment plan and package authorization.
    • Ensure that all clinicians are compliant with documentation requirements.
    • Ensures every consumer has a comprehensive treatment plan that identifies measurable treatment objectives, methods and time frames.
    • Ensure the clinicians understand the uniform assessment/treatment plan and their specific responsibilities.
    • Review weekly productivity and authorization reporting and address all deficient areas within established timeframes.
    • Participate in weekly meeting with the Director of Clinical Operations to identify critical issues.
    • Identify training and programming issues.
    • Conduct weekly team meetings to discuss therapeutic needs of each consumer on the team and to ensure compliance with organization performance metrics and payer/contract documentation requirements.
    • Provide support and information to the team to improve their therapeutic skills with their consumers and their families.
    • Insure the team implements all CQI and COI protocols.
    • Possess knowledge of mental illness, symptomology, DSM-IV diagnostic criteria and treatment methods.
    • Maintain performance benchmarks as set by the Mental Health Division for a Clinical Manager III.
    • Implement Clinical Algorithms as defined by the Mental Health Division of DMS

    Master’s degree in Social Services or related field with 2 to 3 years of mental health experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. Possess an advanced license i.e Licensed Professional counselor or Licensed Certified Social Worker.



    • Ability to be responsive to consumer, family and community needs.
    • Demonstrate experience in program development and supervision of staff.
    • Ability to problem solves, exercise good judgment and make sound decisions.
    • Ability to provide clinical supervision to QMHP’s
    • Ability to monitor staff productivity, and provides technical assistance to the QMHP to achieve productivity benchmarks
    • Ability to adjust to changing expectations & coordinate complex services and support.
    • Ability to successfully use an automated clinical record keeping system. 


    • Intermediate level on MS Excel, Email and word processing programs
    • Ability to utilize Internet for resources.
    • Organizational & time management abilities.
