    Metrocare is the largest provider of mental health services in Dallas County, serving more than 57,000 adults and children annually.  For more than fifty (50) years, Metrocare has provided an array of services available to people with mental and developmental disabilities. In addition to behavioral health services, Metrocare provides primary care centers for adults and children, accessible pharmacies, housing and supportive social services. Through the Altshuler Center for Education & Research we are advancing mental health beyond Dallas County.


    The Metrocare trainer will develop and conduct various training programs for all Metrocare employees.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  (Other duties may be delegated as necessary.) 

    • Confer with MUM and employees to gain knowledge of training opportunities to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.
    • Work with the MUM to coordinate training schedule with the hiring and training demands of the organization.
    • Formulate teaching outline and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops.
    • Select or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
    • Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, etc.
    • Test trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.
    • Report on progress of employees under guidance during training periods.
    • Make suggestions on improving employee’s training and development.
    • Develop strong relationship with all organizational departments to develop course materials and receive feedback.
    • CPR and SAMA trainer certified

    A bachelor’s degree in education, business administration or liberal arts.  At least three years of teaching equivalent in a corporate or business training setting, preferably in human resources, personnel or administration. Outstanding verbal, written, multi-tasking and presentation skills. Ability to create momentum and foster organizational change. Must have tertiary qualifications in human resources, training and development or business studies. 



    • The ability to analyze complex budget and performance data. 


    • Ability to interpret laws and regulations relating to Human Resources Administration
    • Ability to plan and develop Training Programs
    • Ability to work effectively with upper management, program managers and employees
    • Ability to reconcile personnel problems and issues
    • Ability to supervise management staff
    • Ability to reconcile management problems and develop solution
    • Ability to develop plans for conflict resolutions
    • Ability to develop Center policies and procedures
    • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, both orally and in writing
    • Ability to evaluate complex data and make sound judgment in recommending solutions
    • Analytical evaluation of problems with practical business decisions
    • Ability to balance many competing priorities 


    • Demonstrated ability to utilize and maximize information systems including but not limited to strong Microsoft Office skills, MUNIS and other IT applications deemed relevant


    • In-county travel to reach out to the needs of the R.U.’s and to participate in activitites that promote the interests of the organization
    • Travel within the State and to other parts of the USA to participate in H.R. peer and/or trade associations as appropriate
    • Position must provide own means of transportation for in-county and other places within the State that are a reasonable distance from Dallas.
