Metrocare is the largest provider of mental health services in Dallas County, serving more than 52,000 adults and children annually. For more than fifty (50) years, Metrocare has provided an array of services available to people with mental and developmental disabilities. In addition to behavioral health services, Metrocare provides primary care centers for adults and children, accessible pharmacies, housing and supportive social services. Through the Altshuler Center for Education & Research and our software initiative, XenatiX, we are advancing mental health beyond Dallas County.

 

The LPHA provides intake, counseling, and service coordination for the patients in the ACT I team. The LPHA provides direct services, functions as community liaison and as an interdisciplinary team member. Provides clinical leadership to other staff and functions to provide supervision to Counselor-Interns, which may be assigned to unit with consideration to current caseload.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Responsible for screenings, intake, information and referrals
  • Organizes and conducts assessments and service plans
  • Completes accurate, timely documentation.
  • Provides case work, counseling and case management services
  • Provides information on community resources, family systems and service delivery systems.
  • Maintains charts, benches and training, as required.

  • Self-motivating, professional acumen, problem solving, respect for confidentiality, good communication skills for public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to speak in front of unfamiliar people and groups of people.
  • Passionate in advocating for and educating for children
  • Must be familiar with State, local, DADs, ECI and Metrocare Services rules and regulations, procedures and policies.
  • Ability to work with Askesis, TKIDs, and Microsoft Office tools
  • Organized and able to meet deadlines and frequent changes in procedures.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:       

  • Masters degree in psychology, counseling, social work, early childhood development or related field;
  • Licensed by the state of Texas as a LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or RN
  • Two years experience working in a child and family setting; 
  • Experience working with an interdisciplinary treatment team in providing services and intervention for birth to 36-month population and their families; and
  • Bilingual in Spanish and/or American Sign Language a plus. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to work with reports and numbers. 

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding of Metrocare programs.

COMPUTER SKILLS: 

  • Experience in Metrocare computer software (PsychConsult, Northstar, TKIDs, Word, etc.)
